THAI Dance Troupe
History:
The SP BeautiFULLMOON
ChiangMai THAI Dance Troupe was established in 2019 by Assistant
Professor Somphop Phenchan, a retired civil servant from the Chiang Mai College
of Dramatic Arts. The troupe is located at 88 Moo 3, Ban Sankhayom, Makham
Luang Subdistrict, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
Meaning Behind the Name:
The troupe's name, SP BeautiFULLMOON ChiangMai , carries profound
significance:
o
SP: These initials represent for Somphop, the founder's first
name, directly linking his identity to the troupe.
o
BeautiFULLMOON: This is a clever and meaningful wordplay, merging
"Beautiful" with "Full Moon." "Full Moon" is a
direct translation of the founder's surname, Phenchan. Therefore, the complete
name conveys the essence of "perfect beauty, like a full moon."
o
ChiangMai is the hometown of its founder,
Assistant Professor Somphop Phenchan.
